Our Palladian E-Bikes: Calypso

One of our E-bikes is called Calypso, an unfortunate girl, daughter of Atlas, who finds her birthplace in Greek mythology.

We find her in love with Odysseus, who escaped Charybdis and has now landed on Ogygia, the island of the girl condemned by the gods to eternal solitude. She manages to keep him on his island for seven long years, until he, melancholy and tired, begs the goddess Athena to return him to Ithaca and his affections.

Calypso, pitying, agrees to renounce the beloved and makes sure that he can get back into the sea and sail towards the longed-for horizon, leaving her nostalgic, alone again, to scrutinize the waves in the distance from the rocky coast.
